You Can Never Have too Many Plastic Boxes

It is amazing the number of times you need some type of storage. In fact, if you have a storage building or room, it is a good idea to keep a bunch of empty plastic boxes on hand. If you see a good sale on them buy them at one time so you know they will fit together well both empty and full. While it is possible to stack up boxes that are not the same size, it is better if you can stack them in a way that is tightly together. This way you can fit more in a smaller space.

They will also come in handy as insect cages if you have children who are constantly brining home new pets. While it is best to have one that was designed for a living creature, you can always cut a few holes in the top of one not designed for something that breathes air. It might be a good idea to have one or two specialty boxes just in case. If you never have to use them for an animal, they are still good for planting or storage.

Plastic boxes are almost always more water resistant that boxes made from other materials because of the injection molded plastic parts. The box itself is one piece; there are no joints that water can seep into. The lids will fit snugly and can have some type of locking device and baskets to keep out not only water, but help minimize mold and mildew as well.
