Ted Dhanik is co-founder and president of engage: BDR, and has led strategic marketing, sales and business development, client relationship management, and content acquisition since 2007.
Before launching his own firm, Dhanik worked in strategic marketing at MySpace.com, where he was responsible for launching the brand in all major markets. This included developing an integrated on- and offline marketing strategy. In addition, he was responsible for creating several MySpace brands, including the MySpace Celebrity brand. He worked at MySpace for five years.
Before joining MySpace.com in 2003, Dhanik held a number of business development, and sales positions in leading internet companies, including LowerMyBills.com, Nextag.com, Xoriant Corporation, and Atesto Technologies. He spent five years working in business development at LowerMyBills.com, where he was tasked with developing and launching the firm’s home equity product. The same product grossed more than $20 million the first year and $75 the second. In addition, he was responsible for scaling the firm’s poorest performing product.
During his tenure at Nextag.com, he worked on scaling the firm’s tech and non-tech lead generations, and later focused his efforts on the launch of the company’s consumer lending and finance lead business. His efforts catapulted Nextag.com to the heights of industry heavyweights Lending Tree and LowerMyBills.com.
Dhanik holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from California State University at Hayward. He is an active speaker at various industry events, and sits on the advisory board of Schizo Pictures.
